S.M. COURT.

The monthly sitting of the local S.M. Court was held yesterday before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. WANDERING STOCK. For allowing stock to wander, John Burr was convicted and fined 5/- and 7/- costs. W. F. McDonald was fined £1 and 7/- costs, Kere Carter, for allowing cows in wander in Easton Park, was fined £2 on each of two charges, with witness expenses 10/-, and costs 14/-. R. Bryant was fined £2 on each of two charges of permitting a cow to wander on the streets, costs 14/-. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered up for the plaintiff in the following civil undefended cases: — R-. Bright v. Haena Wi Hemara, claim £2O 1/-, costs £3 16s; J. N. Rider v. A. Morgan, claim £1 18/-, costs 8/-; Foxton School Committee v. tenant order for possession on or before July 6tli, 1023, and rent. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. H. S. C. Timmins was ordered to pay W. H. Mawliinay £5 10/-, with costs 15/-, forthwith, in default 7 days’ imprisonment, warrant suspended so long as defendant pays 10/- per month, first payment to be made by the 22nd July, 1923. CRIMINAL. The police proceeded against Lonard Martin for wilfully cutting wires of a fence at Motniti on the 22nd May. Accused was convicted and fined £1 with costs 17/- and ordered to pay £1 damages. One month was allowed in which to pay the fine.
