GAS WORKS.

APRIL WORKING

The amount of gas manufactured during the month of April was 570900 ft., which with the amount in the holder on April Ist, 14,000 ft., made a total of 524,900 ft. During the month 409,800 ft. were used by consumers, 25,500 ft. in streetlamps, 26,000 ft. at the works and there was 14,800 ft. in the holder on May Ist., making a total of 476,100 ft. and leaving 48,800 ft., equalling 9.3 per cent, unaccounted for. For-ty-five tons of coal wore carbonised during the month, yielding 11,1 OS c.ft. to the ton.

The earnings for the month totalled £2BO 14s 7d ami were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £123 15s 2d, heat and power £ll9 11s, coke sales £24 12s lid, tar sales ss, fittings £l3 14s, services £2 10s, labour services £l, labour fittings 16/6, miscellaneous 10s, a total of £286 14s 7d.
