CHILD S BODY FOUND IN TRUNK.

MOTHER CHARGED WITH CONCEALING BIRTH. Auckland, June 9. At the inquest on the body of a child which was -found in a tin trunk in a bedroom of an apartnfent house, Detective Lambert, stated that a domestic servant, Daisy Violet Williams had admitted that she gave birth to the child, which unexpectedly fell on the floor and did not move. She concluded that it was dead, and placed the body in the trunk. Dr. Murray gave evidence as the result of a post mortem examination that death was caused by haemorrhage of the brain caused by a fractured skull. The Coroner found accordingly and the girl Williams was remanded on a charge of concealment of birth.
