IMPERIAL CONFERENCE.
MR. MASSEY’S ATTENDANCE REQUESTED.
Wellington, Last Night
A cable has been received by Mr Massey from Morgan, president of the British Empire Producers’ Organisation: “The British Empire Producers' Organisation considers it extremely important for the expansion of Empire preference that you should attend the conference personally. (Signed) Morgan.” The following telegram has been received by the Prime Minister through the Governor-General: “Have this morning received a cable embodying a message for you from Mr Stanley Baldwin, in which he states that changes in the Government in Great Britain will not affect arrangements for the Imperial Conference and Economic Conference in the Autumn, and that he is looking forward to meeting you in October. —Jellieoe.”
