74-YEAR-OLD BIGAMIST,

Charles Davis, aged 74, a civil war veteran, probably holds the American marriage record. He states that he has had 22 wives. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for bigamy. “T courted women all over tbo world,” bo said. “Tn many eases I just signed a license T bought at a bookstore.” Davis' grandfather was a Supreme Court judge, and his father a. minister.
