BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.

Up to the present the Beautifying Society has not expended any mo nay on the improvement or beautifying of Victoria Park and we hope this will not be overlooked by the society when the expenditure for this year is under discussion. At least a sum of £SO should he expended there this year. Another piece of waste ground which should lend itself to a beautifying scheme and which should receive attention is situated at the north entrance to the town, near the railway crossing. This with very little expense, could be fenced and planted with suitable flowering shrubs and trees which would make the entrance to the borough particularly attractive. In this connection we believe the Racing Club would assist the Society.
