The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the sth inst., reads: “Hemp, Manila market quiet, but firmer early this week, ‘J’ grade, May-July shipments, sold up to £34, easing later to £33 ss. ‘G’ grade, MayJuly shipments, quoted at £35 10s. New Zealand without interest, quotations nominal high point's, spot, £32 10s, March-May shipments £32 ss, fair £3O 15s and £3O 10s respectively.’'
