FOXTON FIRE BOARD.
A meeting of the local committee of the above was held last night. Present: Messrs Chrystnll (chairman), ilornblow, Bryant, A. N. Smith and the secretary (Mr Kangiheuea). Progress payments on building £3OO, tire engine chassis £lB2, hose £2O 3s 9d and other minor accounts were passed for payment. 't’he chairman said as the station uas nearing completion he suggested that a suitable function should be held to celebrate the opening. Mr Horubiow suggested that the station be thrown open to the public on Wednesday afternoon, June 20th, and that the Brigade be entertained in the evening at a social t unction. It was decided to leave the details m the hands of the Chairman and Mx Ilornblow. Resolved to ask Inspector Hugo to inspect and pass the work in connection with the lire engine belore the Board takes delivery of / same. />' On the motion of Mr Smith it was resolved that no expenditure be incurred on behalf of the Board without the sanction first obtained from the Chairman. The question of furnishing the lire station was held over until a full meeting of the Board,
