WEALTH IN GLASS.
Calculated on the basis of the price obtained for English medaeval glass in America, the gilass in York Minister is worth £73,000,000. At a sale in New York, said the Dean, a piece of stained Early English glass, measuring 30in. by 3.1. in. realised over £IB,OOO. He based the value of the Minister gilass on that, and had mentioned it to the Archbishop of Canterbury who commented : “No one would buy in such large quantities.” “My reply,” said the Dean, “was that it was not for sale.”
