CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —May I contradict three gentlemen who have made statements possibly" in error, but to my mind rather unfair and misleading to the public. They are Mr MeMurrav, Mr G. Coley and Mr E. G. Martin. It refers to the tarring of the Main Street, Mr McMurrny said it was done some twelve years ago. Mr Coley claims having had it done and Mr Martin said nothing was done whilst I was on (he Council. In contradicting these three gentlemen, T have only to remind them that >1 was on my motion whilst I was in Council that the tarring of the Main Street was commenced. There are, however, quite a number who can “talk and talk, and still talk” for quite a long time, there are’ also others who can do things and have done them. Yours, etc. CHARLES SIMMONS.
