ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR
A statement of estimated receipts and expenditure for the year ending Alareh 31, 1924, was submitted to Thursday’s meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board. The statement was as follows: — Estimated receipts: Credit balance Ist April, 1923, £3,202 1/10; outstanding subsidy, £l3O 3/9; patients’payments (estimated) £4OOO, payments by Old People's Homo inrtmfcs £800; payments by Olaki patients, £300; sale of pigs, £100; donations and subsidy, £200; balance to lie raised by levy at 9/0 3-10 d per £I,OOO, £l3/112 15/5; balance to be raised by subsidy at 12/3 per £l, £8,539 19/-; total £31,215. Estimated expenditure: Provisions, £2,800; surgery and dispensary, £1,500; wines and spirits £IOO, maintenance buildings and grounds, £1,000; furniture and earthenware, £500; doal, £2,000; gas, £000; bedding and drapery, £400; uniforms, £130; wood £SO; laundry and cleaning, £450; rales, £l-10: insurance, £170; ambulance and funerals, £300; printing £200: administration £1,050; freight and cartage £SO; miscellaneous £375; interest on loans, etc., £2,000; salaries and wages (not office, gardeners, laundry, ambulance) £7,500: Old People’s Home, £2,800; Olaki Hospital £2,000; Charitable Aid £3,000; total, £31,215. Estimated capita! receipts: Credit balance on Ist April, 1923, £787 3s 0d; balance to be raised by levy, £590 8s 3d; balance to be raised, by subsidy, £590 8s 3d: total £I9OB. Proposed capital expenditure: Sterlising plant £350; alterations to store, £125; alterations to room for ophthalmic surgeon, £L2S; electric wiring, £800; sinking hind £508; total £1,908.
