CONSTABLE INJURED.

ATTACKED BY MAORIS. Constable Dawson, of the Te Ivuiti police force was attacked while on duty by four Maoris, and seriously though not dangerously, injured by kicks about the head and body, received when he was borne to the ground in the struggle with his assailants. On hearing of the occurrence, Chief-Detective Fearnley set out in pursuit of the men, and captured the one said to have started the trouble, but the rest are still at large.
