FESTAL FAIR.

The Methodist Festal Fail' eoneluded last evening and taking into consideration the numerous appeals and counter attractions that have been made upon the local public, the results of the effort were exceedingly good. Mr Minifie on behalf of the church officials thanked all who had assisted with gifts, attention to the stalls and work generally in connection with the bazaar. Special mention was made of the manager of the Town Hall (Mr Trueman), Mr Horace Reid, for operating, Mr F. Rout for conveyance of goods, the B. and C. Film Co., and the N.Z. Picture Supplies' of Wellington, and the local press. Following is the prize list: —Ladies nail driving, 4 hits, Mrs Rooi-e; Trip to Palmerston by Cliar-a-Banc, weight of package 41bs. 50z., Mr Tom Hughes 1 ; gents shooting (cushion) Mr L. Bullard; do. (cushion) Mr Byers; do. (gun) Mr Walter Walker; candle lighting (coloured ruffle) 127 can dibs, Mrs Krebbs; do. (black ruffle) 07 candles, Miss Evans; fowl, won by Mi- Osborne; jumble cake, (white), weight 51bs. 120z5., 3 cox-rect guessers: Miss D. Lee, Mrs Yertongen, Mrs Osbonie; produce cake, weight 51b. 14Aozs., Miss Diamond, nearest, 51bs. 13ozs. sweet cake (lai-ge) weight 81bs 4-& ozs,, two correct: Miss Wanklyn and Mr Osboi-ne; ladies garment, competition, incomplete, l-esults announced later; supper cloth, coi-rect weight 21bs. BJozs., Mrs J. Robinson, 21bs. 81 ozs, six judged 21b. Boz., correct, Mrs Withers, 21b. BAozs, The weighing of the packages and cakes was carried out by a committee consisting of Mi- Trueman, Mr Chi-istie and Rev. L. Miiiifle. All records of entries and weights recorded. Results of candle lighting, shooting and nail driving are on file at Mr A. Osborne’s shop for anyone desiring to inspect them.
