PRESENTATION.
A particularly pleasing compliment was paid to the retiling secretary of the Foxton Racing Club at the Bulls racecourse on Wednesday afternoon, when Mr L. R. Freeman was presented in the Stewards’ room with a handsome pair of suitably engraved sporting binoculars by the secretaries t of the adjacent racing clubs and the handicapper, judge and starter of the local club. Mr J. E. Henrys, the veteran handicappev, in making the presentation, inferred to the many good qualities of Mr Freeman, both as a. secretary and as a good spox-t, and although regretting his departure from Foxton, wished him every success in the “Queen City.” Mr Ilenrys’ remarks were endorsed by Messrs Walter Bull, Arthur Way, E. Goodbehere and H. A. Goodall, Mr Freeman, in acknowledging the gift, thanked his fellow-seere-tai-ies for their good wishes and very handsome px-esant. On the call of James McKelvie, Esq. (president of the Rangitikei Racing Club), Mr Fx-eexnan’s health was drank with enthusiasm. Advantage was taken of the occasion to introduce to all present Mr D. R. Ogilvy, the newly-appoint-ed secretary of the Foxton Racing Club.
