WOOL SALES.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 7th instant, from the High Commissioner for New cZaland, London: — Wool: —Sales opened in London on the 6th instant with large attendance. Competition was keen from Continental buyers but the Home trade was reserved. Compared with last London closing rates, merinos and fine crossbred ruled from par to 5 per cent, cheaper, and medium and coarse crossbreds from 5 per cent, to 74 per cent, cheaper.
