FIRE BRIGADE.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the local fire brigade was held on Tuesday night. Superintendent McDermid presided over a good attendance of members. NEW MEMBERS. Messrs R. Parker, A. O’Reilly, and Mathers were elected members of the brigade. COR RESPONDENCE was read and dealt with as follows: . From the secretary Dunedin Fire Brigades Demonstration re board £or”local representatives. —Received. ' From the Fire Board enclosing cheque for £5 for fund to send members to demonstration; also enclosing copy of brigade rules.. —Received. GENERAL. The Brigade decided to purchase caps and boots to complete equipment of representatves who are to compete at the demonstration out of the social fund.
Deputy Nattrass strongly opposed the idea and said he considered' flic Board should supply the equipment.
Decided to canvass residents for funds to send local representatives to demonstration.
The uniforms, just to hand, were then issued and the meeting terminated.
