Tenders received by the London County Council for' the construction of part of a storm relief sewer vary from £52,453 to £107,839. Three stone tools, supposed to belong to the Stone Age, found by a Streatham (London) man who was digging in his allotment, go to a local museum. £IOO is wanted to save a famous Sussex landmark —the old windmill at Rottingdean —from demolition, and Mr Hilaire Belloc has asked for subscriptions.
