PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The quarterly meeting of agers of the Foxton charge of the Presbyterian church was held at Glen Oroua on Thursday. There were present: Rev. Frank McDonald (Moderator), and Messrs Jno. and dames Ross (Foxton), Gimlett, Fergueson, H. Wilton (Rangiotu), Johnston and Farmer (Glen Oroua). The Kirk Session accepted the resignation of Mr A. Speirs as session clerk. The resignation was received with regret and the Kirk Session placed on record its high appreciation of the many and valuable services rendered to the church through many years by Mr Speirs and its desire that he may long continue in the Eldership (of the church. Mr Hedley Wilton was appointed to the vacancy. Plans for alterations, renovations and sewerage and water connections to manse were approved and the work authorised to be proceeded with and the action of the Foxton Committee in commencing the work approved. Harvest thanksgiving services were arranged to be held in the various centres of the charge during the month of March, dates to be fixed by the minister. '

Finance w‘as discussed at length and it was .decided to arrange a •‘golden Sunday” for free will offerings at an early date to meet ex- , Iraordijiary expenditure. •> Reports throughout the charge were of a very satisfactory nature. n
