LIBERAL LABOUR PARTY.
WILL MAINTAIN ITS IDENTITY.
Wellington, Yesterday.
The Liberal-Labour caucus was continued to-day. It confirmed Mr W'ilford’s leadership, and placed on record its hearty and sincere appreciation of his services in the election campaign and congratulated him on the efforts he had made. The party also declared for the maintenance of its identity as one distinct party, supporting the principles of true Liberalism and the real interests of the people, and that so long as the Reform Party continued to represent and to be mainly influenced by large vested interests, large landowners and. others,_ the opposition of the Liberal-Labopr Party to it would be vigorously maintained. Though it expressed continued sympathy with the genuine aspirations of the porkers for improved economic conditions, and their achievement, by constitutional means, it emphasised’its .continued opposition to all extreme and revolutionary proposals. / -
