A HUSBAND’S REVENGE.

RESULTS IN SHOT GUN DUEL. Masterton, Yesterday. Two men, James Ilenrick, a halfcast drover employed as a shepherd at Blackrock Station, and Pakera Ilaeata, a native, 28 years of age, were admitted to hospital this morning suffering from gunshot wounds. It is alleged that Hacata resented Kenrick’s relations with his wife, who has been living with Kenrick for three months, and visited Black Rock, situated three miles from Masterton. At two o’clock this morning, as Kenrick was leaving to drove stock to Masterton, he was allegedly shot three times by Ilaeata with a shot gun. Kenrick then got his own gun and, in self defence, wounded Ilaeata in the arm. Ihe police and a doctor attended the men and brought them to hospital, where both are progressing favourably.
