LOST ON MOUNT EGMONT.
MR MURRAY STILL UNDIS-
COVERED. Eltham, Last Night. The search for Mr William Murx'ay, who was lost on Mount Eginont on Tuesday, continues fruitless. Messrs Murphy, of Dawson’s Fails, and Anderson, of Kaponga, followed the trucks down the mountain side then up again to within 1,000 feet of the summit, where a heavy stoi’m compelled them temporarily to abandon the seai-eb. They returned exhausted aftei- their two days’ efLort, finding in addition to the tracks, the remains of a small lire and. a piece of cord tied to some scrub. The lost man had evidently surmounted gi-eat obstacles with wonderful spirit. Six parties are operating strenuously and hope to find Mr Murray to-day. Messrs Murphy and Anderson were almost frozen during the storm when searching near the summit yesterday.
