ENTERTAINMENTS.

“WHAT HAPPENED TO ROSA.”

Mabel Normand, the popular Goldwyn commedienne will be seen in one of the most delightful comedy dramas that has been presented in n long time at the Royal Theatre to-morrow/ night. The picture is crammed with absorbing situations, based on a unique story by Pearl Lenore Curran, and only a performer of Miss Normand’s ability would be equal to such a role as that of Rosa. She begins as a hopeless department store drudge, emerges as a fascinating Spanish dancer fought over by strong men, enters the character of a street urchin, and comes up —well there is a hero in the story of course, and you’ll go home tickled with Rosa and more pleased with Mabel Normand. Prices as usual. “THE SHEIK.” A companion picture to “The Sheik” will be screened at the Town Hall on Friday night. The production with John Gilbert and Barbara Bedford in the leading parts will be shown at usual prices, although it. is quite different from that of its companion, and the two stars give a very exciting interpretation to the thrilling plot that is unfolded. A supporting feature is “The Splendid Sin” by M. Traverse, and through the courtesy of Mr Cassie, of “The Peoples,” Levin, the candidates for the 8.8.8. Competition will be shown with a short ‘round the town’ view of that township. Qn Saturday night Zane Grey’s “The U.P. Trail” will be screened. This is a six reel super, and is also being shown at usual prices.

The following notice was displayed in an Egyptian restaurant during the war: —“Sirs, I warn nbtis. Soldiers he come to my shop the whiles and he not pay. Also he pour the peanuts down the gramrnophoto and kiss poor Egyptian man’s wife. Also he kick poor Egyptian man and call him one Dago cow. Sirs, this no good, by cripes. Picket very good.
