NEW POSTAL RATES.
TO OPERATE FROM THURSDAY.
The following l regulations and rates come into force on the Ist February 1923. — Letters and Lettereards. —Inland ljd for first 2oz. or fraction thereof and Id each additional 2 oz. or fraction thereof. /All other places to which postal union rates do not apply: lid first ounce or fraction thereof and Id each additional ounce or fraction thereof. Post Cards: —-Inland, single Id, reply 2d. Packets: — (Comprise commercial papers, books, and printed papers, pattern and sample packets, and unregistered magazines) Inland Id not exceeding 20z., lid ing 2oz. and not exceeding 40z., lid for each additional 4oz. or fraction thereof up to lib. and 2d for each additional pound or fraction thereof of up to 51bs. Newspapers. —Inland, id each. Money Orders. By Telegraph | — Payable in New Zealand Id for each £1 or fraction thereof, but with a minimum charge of fid plus a telegraph fee of 1/- if order is sent by ordinary telegram, or 2/- if sent by urgent telegram. If private message desired, ordinary, Id per word, urgent, 2d per word extra. Inland Telegrams:—Week days, ordinary, 9d for twelve words (including address and signature) and Id each additional word. Urgent—--1/6 for twelve words and 2d for additional word. Sundays and Departmental holidays —Double the rates for week days.
Savings Bank Telegrams—Ordinary 9d, urgent 1/6. Weather telegrams for farmers: Telegrams from farmers addressed .‘Weather” Wellington, seeking information as to the state of the weather will be charged 1/- for the message and reply.
