A match for the Nye Ferns was played yesterday afternoon, a challenging team skipped by Walker defeating the holders by a small margin. The following are the details: D. Whibley, Bryant, Nye, Walker, (C), challengers, 25; Thomson, Christie, Boss, Roore (s-), holders, 21. The second round of the Triangular Shield Contest has been set down for February 7th, at Shannon, weather permitting. The following teams will represent Foxton: — Ball, Smith, Christie, Nye (*): Adinore, Huntley, Ross, Roore (s) : Emergencies : —Bryant, Walton. Foxton has a challenge in for the Dixon Cup, the match to be played on February 3rd. The following rink has been arranged by the Selection Committee: —Ball, Jno. Ross, Roore, Nye (s). Emergencies: D. Whibley, Bryant, Walker. Feihiing at present holds the Cup, and Shannon has the next match. The following new members were elected at a meeting of the Committee last evening.—Messrs Thorpe and McDonald.
