POWER FROM MANGAHAO.

WILL IT BE READY BY END OF YEAR. The Tararua Power Board is doubtful whether power will be* available from Manga lino at the end of the year and at its lasl meeting passed the following resolution: — “That, in view of the fact that all hoards to receive their current from Mangahao are pushing ahead with their construction work so that they will he ready to receive the current at the end of 1923, a deputation consisting of the chairman of the respective hoards and the M.’sP. of the districts he set up to wait upon the Minister of Public Works, to get his complete assurance that Mangahao will he ready at the schedule time._ It is-to be pointed out to the Minister that any delay will he serious for the hoards, as capital expenditure must he productive immediately the hoards are ready to receive the power. A copy of this resolution is to he sent out at once to all boards with a request that they acquiesce in order that the hoard may be able to call the conference together at the earliest opportunity.”
