GAS WORKS.

NOVEMBER WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of November was 409,000 ft., which with the amount in (lie holder on November Ist, .11,200 ft., made a total of 480,800c.ft. During the month 390,000 ft. was used by consumers, 19,000 ft. in street lamps, 24,500 ft. at the works and there was 10,200 ft. in the holder on December Ist, making a total of 443,700 ft. and leaving 37,100 ft. representing 7.4 unaccounted for. Four tons of coal were carbonised during the month, yielding 11,429 c.ft. to the ton. The earning- for (he month totalled £282 10s 9d and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £llß 15s, heat and power, £lo2' 4s 7d, coke sales £32 ,1s 1 Od, tar sales £2O 10s, lit tings £8 12s lOd, labour fittings 5/-, miscellaneous 1/0, a total of £282 10s 9d. The expenditure for the month totalled £307 17s 5d and was made up as follows: —Coal £9O 7s 3d, salaries and wages £O4 4s sd, services £8 19s Od, fittings £2 17s Id, engine oil £ll Is 9d, repairs holder £3 Is Od, cement (ft.) 12/6, fireclay £0 10s Od, oxide (10 tons) £SO 11s, cartage and freight 3s 9d, working expenses £3 0s Od, sundries 10/-, interest and sinking fund £59 11s 8d a total of £307 17s sd.
