PETITION BY MR E. P. LEE.
AGAINST MIR MACPHER SON’S RETURRN. Dunedin, Last. Night. Mr E. P. Lee, late Minister of Justice, is lodging a petition against the return of Mi- J. Macpherson at the recent election, as member for Oarnaru. Mi- Macpherson was en a final majority 0 f 14 over Mr. Lee and the petition alleges that a number of votes in favour of Mr Macpherson shduld have been disallowed as informal. Jit- C. J. Payne has the prosecution of the petition in hand.
