RIFLE SHOOTING.
Last Saturday a shoot for the Claris Bowl was held at 200 yards. An overcast sky gave a good light but the breeze —westerly, veering to the north —was tricky and nobody reached the 70.’s without handicap. Rifleman W. Symons is now leading for the Bowl with an aggregate of 5 points, followed by Rifleman A. Barnard with 4 points. Scores on Saturday were as follows: — Pis. 200 yds. H.ep. Total
Next Saturday the first shoot will be held for the following trophies : —lst prize, two pictures kindly presented by Mr A. E. Admoi-e; 2nd and 3rd prizes, Club trophies. Programmes for the first meeting of the National Rifle Association (N.Z. Championship) have been received. The meeting will be held at Trentham on Ist March, 1023, aud following days, entries closing with the secretary, W. G. Fellingham, 11 Donald McLean Street, Wellington, on Thursday, February 15th. The programing is very similar to the 1921 meeting and the total prize money amounts to £2,000. Free railway passes to, Trentham with return excursion ticket, will be issued to all competitors. It is hoped that any member of the local club who can possibly attend- the meeting will do so. A programme can be obtained from Mr H. Frankland also membership tickets at\s/-.
