ATHLETIC SPORTS.
EASTON PARK, TUESDAY NEXT
The Foxton Athletic Club will hold their initial athletic sports meeting on Easton Park on Tuesday next. The club has left no stone unturned to make -the gathering an unqualified success and all that is required is a fine day to make this gathering one of the most successful yet held locally. The park will be used for the first time as a public sports ground since its acquisition. Over £SO is provided for prizes in the various events which include running, jumping, cycling and novel races which should provide interest and amusement for all. There are large entries for all events and the handicapping should justify some exciting finishes. A refreshment booth will he provided on the ground. The committee has paid special attention to the track and has made provision for the comfort of the public. An enjoyable time is assured all. The admission is. 1/- (plus tax) for adults and children fid. As the sports meeting is the only attraction provided locally it is anticipated that .there will be a large attendanceall parts of the district.

It has been decided that the time of closing nominations be extended until Tuesday, January 2nd, 1923 (dav of sports) so as to give any person, who has not yet seen the attractive programme time to enter.
