FATAL FALL FROM LORRY
LITTLE GIRL KILLED. As I' e result of a fall from a nlotor lorry belonging to the Kairanga Dairy Company, and driven along the Longburu-Kongotea Road, at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, a little girl, Ronn Boris, eight years old, daughter of Mr Henry William Boris of Longburn, sustained injuries, which shortly after terminated fatally. The driver stopped to pick up the deceased so that she could enjoy a ride with his three children, who were on the front seat. The driver noticed the approach of a motorcycle on which two persons were riding pilion fashion, and he swerved to give them a clear run with the result that the deceased, who was sitting at the end, fell off the seat. Mr Mellor made a clutch at the falling child, but only secured a part of her clothing and she fell on to the step of the motor lorry and then on to the road. The child who was seen to be injured internally, was conveyed to the home of her parents where she expired. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned.
