A building site in Regent Street. London, for which a ‘'■round rent of Os has been paid since 1818, lias recently been the subject of a new lease at a ground rent of £2,000 a yen r. "Parent" writes asking why the proficiency results have not yet been published and - pointing out that similar results have been published in other centres. On making in(piirics we are informed that the results will be published next week.
On Wednesday last, (ith list, Mr Spring, of X’orbit on Road, celebrated his 87lb birthday. In honour of the event a number of his friends entertained him in the evening at the residence of .Mrs Cutminghame, Ravensworlh Place, at a most enjoyable social evening. ,
Man See writes to the Sydney Sun: "Having read your report of the Rugby League making arrangeim nls for the Chinese footballers intending to tour Australia and New Zealand next .liine, 1 am verv surprised to see that China is able to play Rugby football with Australia or New Zealand. 1 think there must be some misunderstanding for we Chinese play soccer football only. Apparently the Rugby League thinks they are coming to play Soccer." The following editorial note is given: “There is no misunderstanding concerning the code <>f football played. A representative of the Auckland League has been in China for some months and negotiations at that end are practically complete."
