A 7-year-old girl, residin'’’ near Falkirk, Stirlingshire, appeared in (lie Falkirk Sheriff’s Court, and admitted having stolen a tricycle, toffee, and chocolates. The girl seemed terrilied at the appearance of the sheriff, and would not answer to her charges until he pul hi- arm around her and coaxed her to speak. She then admitted the offences. It was stated that the girl’s mother was a paralytic, and her sister, aged .17, appeared to have no control over the child. She was put on probation for 12 months in the charge of a woman recommended by a local priest.
