A number of games in the Wilford Cup' siugles competition were played On Wednesday, the results being as follows:' — Ball (2) 20 v. Barr (3) 19; Jno. Ross (2) 26 v. Heasman (2) 11; Thomson. (6) 23 v. Walker (3) 19; Jno.'-Ross (2) 20 v. C. Pearson (2) 10;IE, Healey (2) 23 v. Heasman (2) 14; Walker (3) 28 v. Parkin (6) 18; Ball (2) 32 v. Banks (8). 13. A match for the Stevenson Pennants (pairs trophies) was played on Wednesday. The holders of these trophies have been in possession of them for the past two seasons, no match having been played for them during last year. The challengers were Walton and Huntley, and the holders never left any doubt about their defence from the start, the challengers not being in the race at any period of the game, the final scores being Barr and Roore 33, Walton and Huntley 6. The same peculiar position exists in regard to the Club Pins, those trophies having laid dormant during: the past season, the holders from the previous season being Parkin and iiye. The .first round of the Triangular Shield Contest is set down for Wednesday next, at Foxton. The home Club puts four rinks in the field, and Levin and Shannon two-each. Levin Club was successful hi securing the trophy last season. The local teams as selected have already been pub : lished. Members of the local club are reminded that they should bring a basket on Wednesday next in order to meet the catering requirements.
