EIGHT RETURNS YET TO COME,

CONSERVATIVE MAJORITY OVER ALL OPPONENTS. London, November 17. Excluding the eight incomplete polls, the total of votes recorded is 13,013,666, 5,381,413 being for the Government and 8,532,253 against. The amended classification shows the state of the parties to be as follows. —Conservatives 346, Labour, 141, Liberals, 62, National Liberals 44, Various 14. The nett party results are: — Conservatives, 19 seats lost; Labour, 58 seats gained; Liberals, 27 gained; National Liberals, 16 lost.
