AX GET CAN SYNOD’S ATTITUDE

The Anglican Diocesan Synod carried a motion that church people be recommended to vote for prohibition .-it the forthcoming poll. The voting was: Clergy 42 to 25; laity 2<l to P>. The Synod rejected an amendment on the lines of last general Synod's resolution to the effect that the Synod should express strong conviction that it is the hounden duty of Christian people, unless prepared to vote total prohibition of the liquor traffic, to have •some other drastic remedy for an evil which is sapping the work and efficiency of the community. The voting was: Clergy 37 to 32: laitv, 15 to 2E
