FUTURE OF GALLIPOLI. INTEREST IN CONSTANTINOPLE. ATHENS. Oct. 16. Mr Donohoe, the Daily Chronicle’s Constantinople correspondent, says: “The luiuro of Gallipoli as ihe last resting place of thousands of our glorious dead is keenly interesting local public opinion. Colonel Hughes interviewed General llarington in regard to the manor. The -Turks have appointed a governor of Gallipoli and claims to re-establish ibeir administration. 1 understand that the Turkish pretention has been refused until the question ol guardianship of- the Dardanelles is finally settled. Colonel Hughes lias been informed that, on no account will the Imperial Graves Commission be evacuated or the resting place of the Anzuc dead retroceded to I lie Turks.” —A. and N.Z. cable. EVACUATION OF THRACE. LACK OF ROLLING STOCK. ATHENS, Oct. 16. General Nider, who is commanding the Greek army in Thrace, ha- telegraphed to the Government and General llarington complaining that the French railway company is providing insufficient rolling stock to permit, the evacuation being completed in the stipulated period.—A. and N.Z. cable.
