CIRCUS ATTACKED.
TRAINEES TAKE CilAltUE. KNOTTED LADS CALMED BY POLICE Trainees in camp at Liverpool (New South Wales) took charge of the town one night, recently and for a time there were all the iippen.rnnc.-os of an ugly riot developing (says the Liverpool correspondent of the Sydney Sun). The two police at Liverpool succeeded in calming the lads. To this the proprietor nnt,irally objected, though lie made no demur at admitting trainees who paid the charges fixed. The lads beearne very boisterous, and counted the proprietor out. Meanwhile an audience of civilians and ■■nine of Hie trainees filled the big lent. Later, it is alleged, one of ilie eu-eiis men is-a.'dii-d a. trainee, whose comrades lacame incensed, and threatened to “deal with" the circus hands. A rush was made i iwards the circus tent by a crowd of ox- ■ ■'la! trainees. They gathered round the 1 -in and abused the proprietor and In employees.
