RIFLE SHOOTING.

The first shoot of the Foxton Defence Rifle Club’s 1922-23 season was held on Saturday afternoon, 10 shots at 200 yards. Only seven members turned up, several being unable to attend. The weather brilliant, with a slight, puffy westerly breeze. The newly-papered targets showed up very distinctly, and gave good aiming. • The scores were as follows: —S. -J. Hartley 47, S. Head 40, A. W. Barnard 45, H. Frankland 43, H. Hamer 42, C. Barnard 43, C. Rand 41.

Next Saturday, if there is a. good attendance of members, ‘ the usual teams match —President v. VicePresident —will be held, at 300 yds.
