GERMAN REPARATIONS.
BELGIUM TO BE PAID. BRUSSELS, Sept. 19. Herr Landsberg, the German Minister, has informed M. Jaspar that Germany will pay the reparation instalments due on August 15 and September 15, and guarantee payment of the October and November instalments by six months’ bills, which the Allied banks would discount to Belgium.—A. and N.Z cable. BERLIN, Sept. 19.
Herr Haverstein has informed Cabinet that the Reichstag is in readiness to sign gold bonds for Belgium for a period of six months, and the British banks’ willingness to prolong their term for a further tyelve months. Germany has advised Belgium that she is prepared to remit, the bonds in six months, subject to the Reichsbauk’s guarantee, but gold will not be deposited.—A. and N.Z. cable.
