S.M. COURT.
The monthly sitting of the S.M. Court was held yesterday, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. BREACHES OE BY-LAWS. Thomas Staff, charged with lighting a fire in the open, contrary to the borough by-laws, was fined 10s and 7s costs. Gee Narm, charged with erecting a building without first submitting plans and obtaining a permit, was fined £5 and costs 7s. BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER. The case Police v. Hans Peter Jacobsen, breach of prohibition order, was adjourned until next Court day, in order to obtain the evidence of an important witness. Henry McGregor was charged with failing to return certain military equipment. Defendant said he had returned the clothing mentioned at Wanganui, after camp. The case was adjourned in order to allow further enquiries to be made. For failing to send a child to school on August Bth, H. B. Cresswell was fined 10s and costs. On similar charges, Arthur Fee and H. J. Prew were each fined ss. CIVIL CASES.
