THE LOCAL SEASIDE.
• • < The Beach Improvement Commit- * tee have issued the following appeal i'i seaside residents: — “The importance of opening a school at the Beach very soon now, and looking ahead, the Beach Improvement Committee have decided to enlarge the Hall (our best asset), which even for present needs is too small. To the front will be added thirty feet, providing for two dressing rooms, with storage room above for seats and school furniture: on the side, a lean-to 24 x 12 for sup-per-room, with brick chimney, and a shelter shed for tire children, which will also be available for tennis players and picnieers. This is estimated to cost £250. “At present the hall, piano, and other buildings are clear of debt, and a small credit balance is in hand. As wc have not asked yott>fc, for a donation for two years, will you donate 10s towards this improvement, the Committee will arrange for the balance. We have been offered building material very ••heap for cash, so desire to take advantage of it, and have the building ready for the coming season, or will accept any suitable material or labour that will reduce the cost. “The Committee are doing their best for the Beach, and trust you will help them with a donation, and any of the following members, A. G. Dawffck, E. R. Holben, D. Lovelock, F. Kirk, C. H. Whitehead, of Palmerston North, and J. K. Hornblow, W. Barber, J. Chrystall and C. Larsen, of Foxton, wilT be pleased to receive it. —A. G. DA WICK, Chairman.”'
