HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated 16th instant, reads: — Hemp.—The Manila market was idle early this week, but market closed more active. J grade, Sept-ember-November shipments sold at 131 to £3l 10s, G grade quoted sellers £34, H £33. Stocks in London in August were 7,708 bales, against 47,203 for the same time last year. New Zealand hemp without interest to consumers; latest offers, fair September-November shipment £3O, high fair £3l 10s, but no business reported. Stocks in London in August, 309 tons, against 640 tons same time last year.
