The weekly meeting of the Union was held at Levin on Tuesday, and was presided over by Mr AY. Thom-
The secret an (Mr Carmichael) reported that Foxton failed to send its third grade team to meet To Horo for the championship last Saturday. Te Horo came up and kick'd oil', and then claimed the match.
On the motion of Mr L. Dixon, Te Iloro was awarded tlie match, owing to Foxton defaulting. A letter was received from the Manawatu Rugby Union stating that a committee from their Union would m ‘ct Horowhenua delegates on Sa.fr-day next to come to definite proposals re amalgamation to take hack to their respective Unions. It was decided I > accept the Manawatu invitation, the Horowhenua delegates to be Messrs Thomson, Bevan and Carmichael.
The secretary reported that arrangements were complete for the Horowhenua-Manawatu match at Palmerston North on Saturday next. Mr AY. Bevan will be manager of.the Horowhenua team, the members of which will leave by the New Plymouth mail. The Tokomaru Football Club forwarded an invitation to the Management Committee to attend the club’s social and dance on Friday evening next. The invitation was accepted, the junior championship trophies to be presented by the chairman to the Tokomaru team during the evening. An application from a Te Horn player for an insurance claim for six weeks’ medical treatment was granted on the motion of the chairman and Mr Dixon.
Mr Norgrove, Otaki, forwarded £2 3s 3d, the net receipts of the Kovers-Otaki match for the Licenced A'idnailers’ Cup .last Saturday. In reply to it. member, the secretary stated that no financial statement of the rep. match played at Shannon had yet been received, bill the Shannon secretary had stated that he would forward it in a few davs.
