LIQUOR IN A CLUB.
FINES* AT CHRISTCHURCH. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 50. Cases arising out of tho recent raid on the premises of the Lyttelton Club, when a quantity of liquor was seized, were dealt with to-day. Thomas Gallefy, Thomas Victor Tuony, Peter Hamilton and Daniel Hamford were each lined £5 for having sold liquor, and Walter Toy and Charles Frederick Smith £1 each for having assisted in the sale of liquor. The cases against six others were dismissed. Confiscation of the liquor was not ordered, (lie Magistrate saying the club was a corporate body and had not been convicted.
