LEVIN V. FOXTON.

Resuming play some very good football was witnessed on both 1 sidesf t'he game" being confined to mid-field, but Foxton was not to be • put off u and Darcy Ball received a beautiful pass and made the pace for goal, and scored a brilliant shot, giving the Levin goal keeper no possible chance to save. The Levinites then tried hard to secure a footing, but Matthews and Reid, the Foxton full-backs, were . simply impregnable. The game still continued in Foxton’s favour, Jenvey, Wilby, Cook and Madden each having had tries for goal, but the half-time whistle sounded with the Foxtonians leading by 5 goals to nil. On resuming play Foxton again became dangerous, but a ,rearrangement of the Levin team seemed to keep them better in land and some very good combination work of the Foxton forwards was witnessed. However, with their good tactics they could not score, for Francis, the Foxton goal-keeper was safe as a house between the sticks. Give and take play ensued for a time but the Foxton forwards, coming down in beautiful style, added another goal to their score and shortly afterwards the whistle sounded the finish of the game. Foxton (i goals; Levin nil. Mr McKnight was referee and kept the teams well in hand. Messrs Robertson and Coley acted as linesmen. The secretary of the Foxton Club took a collection on the grounds to assist the financial position of the Club and met with a very 'hearty response, the amount collected being £1 14s Gd. The secretary wishes to thank all those who donated to the Club’s welfare.
