STORY OF THE SACRIFICE. LONDON, Aug. 27. 'Die Sunday Times, which is owned by the firm that purchased the English serial book rights of Mr Lloyd George s book, states that his decision to give the whole of the profits to charities is entirely free from any ad captandum intent or to meet the acrimonious criticism which the announcement of its publication evoked in certain quarters. The simple fact is that in the course of writing the book Mr Lloyd George has been so distressed by the poignancy of the story' he has to led, and by the terrible sacrifice of the nation’s life blood involved in the struggle, that the idea of any personal gain in the matter lias become impossible. He felt that lie would despise himsolf if lie allowed himself to think of the book in such terms, 'ihe story of the nation’s sacrifice shall only be told for a nation’s gain.—A. and N.Z. cable.
