MOASCAR CUP COMPETITION. A crowd of 4,000 watched the semi-final game in the North Island competition for the Moascar Cup played on the Palmerston N. Showgrounds yesterday between f l e Auto College and the Auckland Grammar School, the latter winning by 11. points to 0. Auckland Grammar owe their win to a fast, clever set of backs. The tackling on both sides was low and deadly, and from start to finish the game wais played at d cracking pace. During the second half, the Maoris had hard luck in not scoring, for they were within an ace of it on several occasions. The final will be played between Auckland and either Wanganui Technical or St. Patrick’s College at Palmerston on Saturday. South Canterbury defeated Manawatu at Palmerston yesterday by 9 points to 3. In the primary schools competition, Wairarapa defeated Wanganui, Wellington and Manauatu. At. Masterton yesterday the Wairarapa team defeated Auckland by three converted tries to a penalty goal. At Dunedin Otago defeated Taranaki by 17 to 3.
At Otaki yesterday the Horowhenua reps, defeated Golden Ba\ by 24 points to 5. Marlborough defeated Wanganui at Blenheim by 20 points to 16.
