DIXIE TROUBADORS.

TOWN HALL, TUESDAY NIGHT.'#’ The above bright combination appear in the Town Hall on Tuesday next for one night only. The Auckland Star says: — The “Dixie Troulmdors” who opened at the Town Hall Concert Chamber submitted an excellent programme of vocal, humourous and harmonious items which were headed by .Jolly •John Larkin.-, all of which appeal- . ed to the large audience. The programme opened with a lively chorus and was followed by a full minstrel first- part. A series t i individual turns interspersed with amusing patter, lend- di-iiuet variety to the entertainment. Miss Rosa Hawthorne, who is the possesor of a -weet soprano voice was heard to advantage in Amarella, and in spouse to an enthusiastic encore sang “Kentucky Home" charmingly. Mr Irving Steele and Miss Maudie Mills showed themselves to great advantage and Mr Jolly John Larkins, the Premier Comedian of the show, appeared, in vocal numbers, in addition to dispersing amusing patter, all of which were received with great enthusiasm and shrieks of laughter. The sisters Hawthorne, the harmony girls, were much appreciated and were compelled to take recalls. The character sket- ( lies l>y Don ace were very amusing. Miss Violet Hawthorne (a Jan Cherniavski pupil) proved a treat, to listen to in the capacity of pianist. The Dixie Quartette with, their effective costumes played a big part in the entertainment and the programme terminated with an uproarious comedy entitled “That New Man." Don’t forget to come along to this bright performance. Dad bring mother, mother bring the kiddies.
