MARKETING METHODS.

PRIMARY PRODUCTS IN LONDON. SYDNEY, Aug. 22. In speaking at the Farmers’ Conference, Mr Trethowan, a member of the Legislative Council, who recently visited London in connection with the marketing of primary products, urged the need of having someone in London thoroughly conversant with business who could decide fearlessly without having to refer to Australia. He mentioned that while in London he was aide to make from £40,000 to £50,000 for the wheat pool becauso he was able to put through sales at the right, time. He contended that Australia was not receiving an adequate return for the outlay of £1,600,000 spent on Australia House and several thousands spent yearly upon the High Commissioner and his ■ staff. The business side of Australian representation was not sufficiently looked after.—Press Association.
