INVITED TO VISIT HAWAII. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 18, ihe New Zealand Swimming Association has received an invitation from the Hawaiian Association to send Miss Hopt and Gwith Shand to Honolulu to compete in October. Miss Hopt is the champion aoid record holder for 100 yards, and Miss Shand is the champion and) record holder of a quarter mile. If the invitation is accepted, they leave Auckland on September 26. SEAPLANE’S VOYAGE. NEW YORK, Aug. 17. The seaplane Sampaio Correin, carrying a lieutenant and four others, has left Rockaway, Long Island, for Rio do Janeiro. — A. and N.Z. cable.
